My tummy is in knots…

Ok….so I have a day left to get ready for my (solo) trip away to Australia on Thursday.

I have lots of things to think about and lots of things to prepare. I can tell I am going to be writing a bunch of lists after I finish this post – packing lists, list of to-dos for tomorrow. Did I mention that I am probably taking 6 kids to the movies tomorrow. Ha!

I know that come Wednesday evening, I’m going to be feeling really sad at leaving everyone….

Through all the rollercoaster of emotions, I am really grateful that I am able to have this quick visit away, and to go on a wee adventure to Sydney for a few days.

The kids will be in the capable hands of my hubby…..he really is a keeper. Sunday at church will be interesting. He will be juggling his Bishop responsibilities and 4 kids by himself. I can’t wait to hear how it goes. ;)

Ok…I’m off to do some laundry, so they have clothes to wear over the next few days. I don’t want them turning up to church in their PJs!

Lesson learned the past few days:

I am reminded how long it takes to do homemade crafts. I did a felt donut last week, and it took me over an hour.

On my mind:

It was nice to have a bloggy break when our computer decided it didn’t want to connect to the internet last week.

Good Reads – Viv Schwarz Picture Books

The books, “There are cats in this book” and “There are no cats in this book” are adorable. It feels as though the 3 cats in the book are talking to you, and are involving you in their story. The artwork is lovely, and the pages are presented in quite a unique way, which makes it an interesting read.

See for yourself! Here are a couple of YouTube clips of Viv Schwarz reading her books. Enjoy!!

Looking forward to this week:

I’m going to see if I can get a babysitter so hubby and I can go out for our date night for a change.

Tips and Tricks:

If you want to try something new in your children’s lunch boxes, why not try baguette/bread sticks. These work out to be quite economical too. We buy 2 baguettes a week ($3.00 for 2 special) in our weekly shop. We divide up one baguette between the 3 school kids, and fill it with their favourites.

My favorite blog post this week:

At “My Half Dozen Daily” they are doing a Fiscal Fast for a week. Go check out their blog, to see how they are cutting down on spending with a family of 6. :)
